Reel Girls Media’s productions are recognized at home and abroad with numerous awards and screenings at international film and new media festivals. Whether it’s a documentary, children’s television series, or interactive new media, our projects are noted for their excellence and innovation and have been awarded with over 40 awards and 65 worldwide screenings in 12 countries from France to Finland, Germany to Guatemala.

In 2007 Reel Girls Media took home the Gold for Best Social Issues Documentary at the World Media Festival in Germany for Homefront, as well as a cash prize for Best Foreign Short Film at the 2007 Bluegrass Independent Film Festival in Kentucky. Homefront was also a winner at the 2007 Alberta Film and Television awards, taking home the award for Best Documentary over 30 Minutes. Homefront tells the stories of five soldiers and their families during a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan.

Reel Girls Media received a 2007 Silver Website award at the World Media Festival in Germany for www.Booked.tv, the online companion to the television series Booked, and two more awards - a Bronze at the Horizon Interactive Awards in Indiana, and the award for Best TV-Related Interactive at the 2007 Digital Media Association of Alberta (DMAA) competition. The Booked game, Murder or Suicide?, also received a DMAA award for Best Interactive Game.
